'My father Is The Leader Of Many Kidnap Gangs In Lagos' - Suspect

 Nigerian Police Force
An arrested kidnap suspect has told the police that his father is the leader of various gangs in Lagos and Ogun States.

One of the suspects arrested in the abduction of four landlords in Lagos State a few weeks ago, Trust Bourdilon, has confessed to the police that his father is the leader of various kidnapping gangs in the state and has been the one organizing their operations.

The 28-year-old Bourdilon was arrested alongside four others including his lover, and the gang's informant, ThankGod, shortly after they abducted the landlords in the Isheri area of the state and demanded a whopping N300 million each, but were released after a ransom of N12 million was paid to them.

According to the suspect, his father, who is currently on the run, is the brain behind most of the kidnappings in Lagos and Ogun States.

Describing the landlords’ abduction as their last operation before operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Special Intelligence Response Squad (IRT) arrested him, Bourdilon stated that said the gang collected N12 million ransom for the landlords, but his father gave him just N350,000 as his share.

A police source narrated how the suspects were arrested:
“The suspects were arrested in parts of Lagos, Ogun, Delta and Ondo States. Bourdilon confessed that his dad is the leader of the gang and used to bring kidnapping operations to them to execute. His dad used to locate targets, which the gang goes after.

The gang has six AK47 rifles, which they use for operations. The last operation was the abduction of the landlords.

ThankGod’s role in the gang is that of an informant. His job is to go out, mix with members of the community where they had kidnapped people and get information on what is happening and what police are doing about the kidnap."

"Bourdilon confessed to being among suspected militants that ambushed policemen and killed a SARS operative, Solomon Esemuze, at Iba. Bourdilon’s father is yet to be arrested.”
