For Women-How To Ensure Football Season Doesn’t Ruin Your Relationship
Incase you did not know, football is a way of life for all many Nigerian men, and they follow the game season, season out.
Another piece of information for the uninitiated women reading this, a football season has 38 games at least, and depending on some other factors, that could rise to 60 games or thereabouts.
So you can expect a time-span of 9/10 months within which you and football will be fighting for your partner’s attention at different times.
There is actually a football season going on at the moment of writing this article, and it's only three months old now.
To ensure that you do not lose your relationship because of this, these are the things to do:
Try to get in the spirit
It is understandable that you have no interest in this game and it's fine. But think of it this way, would you rather go into the other room every time a match begins, or would you try to sit with him and try to see what make this thing interesting to him once in a while?
Football is an amazing game by the way, and who knows, you just might become a fan too!
This is a plus for you, as this one more thing will unite you both. [Just make sure you support his club.]
PS: Do not even try to watch African magic or Zee World at the same time his favourite team is playing. Wrong move.
Food
Imagine him watching the game and there's something on the table in front of him to munch from as the game progresses.
Even if you are never going to like the game, at least, you can make him comfortable while he engages in what he obviously enjoys.
Add friends to the mix
If you can't bear football, and your beau's friend has a girlfriend that can't stand football either, why not ask him to invite that his friend and his babe?
While they watch their football game and scream like they always do while at it, you and the other babe can engage in gossip other nice things you both enjoy doing.
Get his favourite club jersey
You might not love football, but you surely must like fine clothes, right?
Well, many football jerseys are nice, so you could get yourself a jersey of the club he supports.
To make it better, if you don't mind, you could customise it with the name he loves to call you, or a pet name he's given you.
The point here is to ensure that nothing comes between both of you.
Not even football!!!
